Awesome basketball game!
The girls played a hard, but awesome game last night (12/13/10) against Beaver. And although they ended up losing the game, they played so well!! The score was 38 to 20, but Dakota made 18 of those 20 points!!! I was so proud of her!! She did amazing!!! Jordan played a great game too! She had some great rebounds and she fought hard to hang on to the ball and took several good hits from the other team. She got knocked down a few times, once on her bad knee (cheerleading injury) and I just knew that was gonna be it for her, but nope......she got up and even though you could just tell that she was in major pain, she finished out the game hard and played like a trooper!! Very proud of her!! After the game, both of the girls were exhausted, they both played the entire game without coming out at all, but they got out there and cheered for the boys!! So very proud of my girls!!!! They are amazing young ladies and they always give their all to everything they do!!!

Almost time for Christmas
I can't believe it's almost Christmas time. I'm really not even close to being ready this year. I am usually done way before now, but I have barely gotten started!! The girls did get the Christmas tree put up and they decorated it all by themselves this year while I was decorating the fireplace and the rest of the family room. They did an awesome job. Then then conned me into taking them to town (on black Friday) to buy a small Christmas tree and OU ornaments for their game room! Turned out really cute!!
Dakota's Monster Buck!!

Dakota really hit the jackpot this year. She got a nice buck!! 10 point, 300 lbs. She was pretty tickled. I don't know who was more excited though, her, Ed, or Grandpa Terry! lol She got her deer with her 25-06 TC Encore rifle.
Went back out that evening and tried for Jordan a deer, but never seen another one. So then we went back the next weekend and only saw one doe. But Jordan wanted a buck, so she decided to wait until next year and get her monster buck then! :o)

Gearing up for Deer Season!
The girls are both looking forward to deer season. They'll be going hunting this coming Sunday (21st). After the fashion show, Dakota was more than ready to come home and do a little target practing with her deer rifle. She was bored and not impressed at all with the fashion show and all the beauty and makeup tips the girls got afterwards. lol Not really her cup of tea! :o)
Fashion Show for the Miss Hooker Princess Pageant
Jordan is going to be a contestant in the Miss Hooker Princess Pageant in March. October 14th the girls put on a brisket dinner/fashion show to raise money for scholarships to be given out to the pageant winners. Tya Mantooth (a good friend) came out Sunday morning and did Jordan's hair and makeup for the fashion show. She did an amazing job, Jordan was absolutely gorgeous!! She had a lot of fun modeling at the fashion show. It was not judged or anything, just a good way for the girls to raise some money and to work on their modeling skills and being in front of a lot of people.
Dog Fest 2010
Girls had a lot of fun with dogfest this year. One day was "wanna be retro" day - Jordan dressed up in the poodle skirt she had borrowed from Lisa and went from the '50s. Dakota never figured out what she wanted to do for that day, so she didn't dress up. One day was "wanna be a success" day. Dakota dressed up like a softball player and Jordan dressed up like a trap shooter. The last day of dog fest they decorated t-shirts to support their class. I somehow ended up with a picture of Dakota in her shirt and not of Jordan in hers. lol But they both did an awesome job decorating their shirts and had a lot of fun at dog fest!!
Halloween Dance
Earlier in the evening Jordan had helped out with the Halloween parade in earn a community service credit for the Miss Hooker Princess pageant, then she went on a trick or treating canned food drive with several members of her class.
Dakota had been invited to spend the weekend out of town with a friend, so she chose to do that instead. Both the girls had a really nice Halloween!!
Colorado Road Trip! - October 2010
Wow - been a while since I've updated this blog! lol
Ed and I took my new vette out to Colorado the first weekend in October. Terry came over to spend the weekend with the girls. They really enjoyed spending some time with him!!
Ed and I had an awesome time. We (he) drove almost 1200 miles in 2 days. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous! We went out through Trinidad, then over to South Fork, up to Creede, Lake City, Gunnison, back over Monarch Pass, Salida and Colorado City. The trees were all turning and it was beautiful. First time we've ever been to CO in the Fall. And seeing all of this in the vette was really amazing!!
