Wow, it does not seem like they should already be 13 years old!! They have grown up so fast!! They are very beautiful, caring, and mature young ladies and I am so very proud of them!!! We didn't do anything real big for their birthday this year because they have been so busy that we simply didn't have time. We are planning on taking them somewhere special before too long, maybe over Spring Break. They spent their birthday weekend with Jordan going to an area quiz bowl in Woodward on Saturday and Sunday (actual birthday) Jordan had gymnastics and Dakota had softball pitching practice.
They are both doing excellent in school. Jordan made the superintendents honor roll for the semester! Dakota made superintendents honor roll for the 1st nine weeks and principals for the semester. She missed out on superintendents by 1 point in one class! She was a little bummed about that, but I am so very proud of both of them for the grades that they make. They are so busy with sports, and other extra activities that making straight A's and one B to me is excellent!!
Their basketball team is undefeated!! As of today they are 14 and 0!! They are both doing amazing. As I said before, they both made the A team and get to play quite a bit on it. And now the coach has decided since the B team had not been doing very well that he would put 5 of the A team girls on the B team to help out a little. So they get to play a couple of quarters on the B team, to help them out, and then get to play on the A team too. So this has meant more playing time for the girls, which is nice, and more games for us! lol But that's okay, they are loving it and doing so great!!
Jordan is doing awesome in gymnastics, finally did a back handspring last week, she was pretty pumped about that!! Dakota is doing amazing at pitching too. She has got some power behind that ball. She probably throws 8 out of 10 strikes now!! And she's still got about 3-4 more months of practices before softball season even starts. Only thing that concerns me is that she's got so much power, that the girl playing catcher is not gonna want to catch the balls Dakota pitches! She even makes her coach's hand hurt and she really stung Ed's hand the other day! lol
They are both still active in Awana and FCA. This keeps them and me busy on Wednesdays. There is rarely a day (even weekends) that we don't have something going on. But I wouldn't trade it for anything!!
Ed is still pumping for Oxy, he loves his job. He's home early most days and he works every other weekend, but those weekends he's usually home before noon.
Bryce is still living in Shattuck and he's working at a salvage yard in Woodward.
Girls got to go to South Padre Islands over Christmas with my Dad. They had a blast. It was cold there though, colder than it's been in over 10 years they said, so they didn't get to swim in the ocean like they had hoped, but they still had a lot of fun. Went on a dolphin watch, to a big zoo, a place where they take care of sea turtles, ect... It was a fun trip for them and they really enjoyed spending some time with their Grandpa!! The Bahamas Cruise didn't work out, some sort of booking mix up, so that is why they ended up going to South Padre Islands.
Well, I think this about catches everyone up on what's been going on around here. Hard to believe it's 2010 already. Hopefully I'll do a little better about updating at least once a month! lol But no promises! :o)
