My early birthday present!!!!

Ed and Dakota found this 2006 Corvette while they were in Norman. It's fully loaded, only 24K miles on it in mint condition!! We've been looking for one for a while and Ed decided since this had EVERYTHING on it I wanted, he was going to buy it and give it to me as an early birthday present!! We'll be going to pick it up tomorrow (18th). I can't wait!!! I'm so excited, I can't believe I finally have my red corvette convertible!! :o)

Happy Birthday to my Grandma Jordan today!!!!

Well school is underway and the girls are liking most of their classes. A little hard to get back in the groove of having school work and homework to do. lol But they'll do great!! Dakota was elected as class secretary for this year. Jordan was nominated for class president, but got beat out by just a few votes. All the boys had to stick together and vote for the boy, lol. But she was tickled to be nominated and to get as close as she did to winning!!

Guess the first cross country meet will be on the 28th at Watonga. Girls have been running everyday after school with the team to get ready for it. Today they both have a cheer meeting and then will be going to run.

Jordan and I had a nice time last weekend, she did really good at the trap shoot and we found out that the NRA will be sending a film crew out to Hooker sometime this Fall and they have asked for some of the trap shooters to let them film them and it's going to be on national television!! The guy in charge out here already asked Jordan to shoot that day, she's pretty excited and pretty nervous! lol The rest of the weekend we just hung out together, ordered pizza and watched some tv and played some games together. I really enjoyed having some one on one time with her.

Ed and Dakota also had a really nice father/daughter weekend. They had a good time at the car show, both came home pretty sunburnt though! lol I wasn't there to remind them to put on sunscreen!! They hung out with a few other smokinvette members and really enjoyed the weekend together.

School Starts Tomorrow!!!

Wow, I can't believe that school will be starting tomorrow!! The Summer just went by too fast! So far this month we've had a nice visit with Ed's Mom and Ken. They came out and spent a couple days with us and we sure enjoyed it!!

Ed and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary on August 7th. Hard to believe it's been 21 years!! We had a nice day. The girls baked and decorated us a cake and then that evening we took the vette to town and went out to eat and rode around for a while and spent the evening together.

Got the girls' hair cut and hopefully have everything ready for their first day of school tomorrow. They've been enrolled and they have their class schedule. They are going to be super busy girls again. Cross Country will be starting immediately. They'll be practicing after school and then meets will be on most Saturdays. Football season will be starting very quickly and Jordan will be cheering at all the jr. high games and Dakota will be the Bulldog mascot for these games. They're both getting excited!! They'll both also be playing basketball this year and running track again. Both have said they'll be doing quiz bowl this year and active in FCA. Jordan will be doing the Miss Hooker Princess pageant and of course keeping up with her gymnastics and trap shooting. Dakota will continue her pitching practices with her coach throughout the year as well. Both girls have become very active with the Baptist church and youth group in Hooker, so that is also keeping them busy and involved.

Ed and Dakota will be going to Norman, OK on the 13th and 14th for an all Corvette car show. Jordan has a trap shoot on the 14th, so her and I will be staying here to go to that. There will be another car show in Hugoton, KS on the 28th, but that one is on hold until we find out if there is a cross country meet that day or not. lol

Bryce will be turning 20 on the 28th of this month, hard to believe he's that old. We don't really hear from him much, he has a pre-paid cell phone and has discovered that it's hard to keep minutes on it! lol But at least he doesn't end up with a huge phone bill each month. He's still living in Shattuck.

This month also has some sad news - Ed's best friend, RJ is moving. I'm not really sure how either of them are going to make it. They're like two peas in a pod and they're rarely seperated! lol But - on the good side, it's not that far away, so we'll be able to go visit for the day and they'll be able to come here and visit for the day once in a while. RJ already has plans to come and stay a couple weekends with us for pheasant season. But it's going to be really hard to see him and Carrie and the kids leave. We'll miss them!!

I'll try and update a little more often and keep everyone updated on school happenings. I'll probably get the monthly schedule up on here as soon as I get one from school.

The month of July

Well, I guess I missed a month! lol July was busy for us as always. The girls continued with their Summer Pride in town 4 mornings a week. Dakota went to Falls Creek with the Baptist church for a week of camp, she had a wonderful time and came back feeling truly blessed. Jordan went to Branson that same week with my Dad and Tweeter. She had a great time as well, got to see some cool places and then finished up the week at Dad's new lake house at Canton. Both girls went to South Fork, CO for cross country camp. They ran 6 miles a day in the mountains. They both did really well!!

The 4th of July we went to Laverne for the car show and parade. The girls took their boyfriends with us for the day and we all had a really nice time.

Jordan is still seeing James, but Dakota and Hayden broke up. She is now seeing Chance Ackley - a long time friend of the family. They seem really happy together and Chance is a great kid. Both of the girls are lucky to have great boyfriends that treat them so well and that are so understanding with this mean old mom not letting them actually "go out". The boys are perfectly happy to come out here and spend time with the girls watching movies and riding 4 wheelers, ect.... Of course with school starting they'll be able to go to some school sponsored dances and things like that.

Ed's still working as a contract pumper for Oxy. For the most part still enjoying his job. I've spent all of the summer running the girls all over for everything. Between Summer Pride, softball games/practices, eye appointments, hair appointments, ect... I have kept the roads hot!! lol

All in all we had a really good summer though, didn't get a vacation this year - we were supposed to go up to KS to my Mom's for a few days, but Ed ended up having to stay and cover for another guy at work so our plans were changed. Hoping to make it up there in Oct. though.
