Dakota's Trip to OKC for Race 1:14

Dakota had a great time on her trip to OKC with some of the FCA girls. They attended the Race 1:14 and they were all very blessed by the experience. The girls got to meet Landry Jones and have their picture taken with him (I think Dakota tried to get as close to him as she could! lol). She also got his autograph. The girls spent the night and went swimming in the hotel and enjoyed some fun time together. On the way home Saturday, Heidi (FCA leader) took them to Eischen's to eat fried chicken. Eischen's was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Dakota likes to watch that show with me, so she thought that was pretty cool!! They got home around 5:30 or so that evening.

So Proud of my girls!!

Got a call from the school on Monday afternoon. They were calling to inform me that since my girls were in the top percentage of their class they were both being offered the opportunity to skip 8th grade math for next year and go straight to Algebra 1. Still not quite sure how they got so smart! lol We talked it over and Dakota decided right away that she didn't want to do it. She wanted to go ahead with 8th grade math next year. Jordan took a little longer to decide. She wanted to, but then she wasn't sure! lol But in the end, she opted to stick with 8th grade math also. I'm actually very pleased with their decisions. While I am SOOOOOOO very proud of them for being given the chance, I also know that they are so active and so involved in so many things at school that I just don't want them to feel overwhelmed with taking on a Freshman class. I want them to be able to keep up their grades, all their extra curricular activities and not feel totally stressed over a harder class. But I just had to brag on them for being given the chance to do this!! They are such great girls!!

Looks like we've had a slight change of plans for this coming weekend too. Dakota will still be going to Race 1:14 in OKC with the FCA group. But Jordan has decided to stay here and go to the first trap shoot of the season. It was a pretty tough decision for her, but she really doesn't want to miss any trap shoots this year, because they start keeping score at the first one and I think she's got a really good shot at being in the top 3 at least, if not better!! Plus I guess this gives the girls a chance to spend a little time away from each other. Funny thing is, I'll bet anything that they'll be texting each other the whole time. They crack me up, they get so mad at each other and want the other one to just go away, but when they are apart, they miss each other like crazy! lolll

I'll try and blog again on Monday and let everyone know how Dakota's trip went and how Jordan does at her trap shoot!! Have a great week everyone!!

May 2010

I can't believe it's already May! The girls only have 10 days of school left! They are out on Fridays from now until school is out and they only go 1/2 a day on the last day which is the 21st. This year has just flown by!!

The 8th the girls will be going to Amarillo to Wonderland park with their Awana group. They are really looking forward to that! Then on the 14th and 15th they will be going to OKC to the Race 1:14 seminar with their FCA group. It's for girls only and OU basketball coach Sherri Coale is speaking. I've heard her speak before and she is awesome!! The girls are really looking forward to that and to getting to hang out with friends and stay in a cool hotel and go swimming and go shopping at the mall!!

The 18th we will be attending the Academic/Teacher appreciation banquet at school. It's for the teachers and the students that have been on the principal's and/or superintendent's honor rolls all year. We're looking forward to that!! The 18th also marks the day that Ed and I met - 21 years ago!!!!

The girls are all signed up for softball this summer and practices will be starting soon I'm sure. Jordan will be continuing in gymnastics and Dakota will be continuing her pitching practices with her coach on Sunday afternoons!!

This past weekend was Pioneer Days in Guymon. We had a lot of fun. Ed and I drove the vette in the parade and the girls both rode on Jordan's gymanstics float. After the parade we went to Brent and Bess' house for a bbq and then off to the tractor pulls and the rodeo! It was a busy, but fun weekend!!

Jordan did awesome selling her Scentsy stuff for cheer camp!! She will be going in June for that. We had a meeting last night for the parents. And not only is Jordan going to be cheering next year, now Dakota will be the official Hooker Bulldog Mascot next year!! She's pretty excited. She didn't really want anything to do with being cheerleader, but thinks the mascot will be a lot of fun!! I'm so excited for both of them!!

I think that about catches me up for May! This summer is going to be an extremely busy one, but I'll try to keep caught up at least once a month! lol

Hooker Track Meet!!

Dakota finishing up the mile
Jordan getting ready to make it into 2nd place in her heat in the 200 Dakota and Vanessa (fellow classmate) in the mile

Jordan in the 2 mile relay

Yesterday was the Hooker Jr. High Track Meet!! It was soooo windy!! I got a horrible sunburn, but it was great watching the girls all day!! They both did great. They are both on the 2 mile relay team and their team ended up with a 3rd place medal. Dakota also received a 3rd place medal for the mile run! Jordan got 2nd in her heat in the 200 meter dash, but with all the heats and average times she didn't end up with a medal for that. But they both did awesome!! This was their 2nd track meet this year (I forgot the camera at the first one). They have another one Friday at Boise City.

Dakota's new gun!

Since Dakota is not much into shooting shotguns, Ed decided it was time to give her a nice gun since he gave Jordan a Ruger Red Label to shoot trap with. Dakota loves to shoot handguns and rifles. She already has a 22 rifle and a deer rifle (and yes - I don't remember the caliber! lol). So, Ed gave her one of his favorite 22 pistols. He bought this gun I think he said in 1981 (still looks like a new one of course) and they no longer make this, so it's now a rare gun. Dakota is thrilled over it. She was so excited to shoot it that we totally forgot to get any pictures while she was shooting. So, we let her hold it and took a quick shot inside that night when we all came in. (more pics next time she shoots it!!)

Trapshooting

Jordan had a lot of fun practicing her trap shooting Sunday afternoon. She did awesome (as always!!) Ed decided he'd shoot the last 5 and much to his surprise - didn't do so well! lol Jordan kicked his butt!!! Of course he was shooting her gun, not his, and he normally rarely misses one. But we are not about to let him live down that his daughter smoked him!! lollllll
Jordan make some terrific shots! She's really getting excited for the trap shoots to start back up!!

Ed reloading the machine so Jordan can shoot some more!

Look at that stance!! She is a natural!!

Awesome shot Jordan!!

Enid Corvette Show

All the smokinVette Members that were at the Enid show with their vettes! This is the Vette I want!!!

A view from the top - 121 Corvettes all under one roof!! AWESOME!!!

Getting ready to head out Friday morning!!

Ed, the girls and I took our Vette to the Enid Corvette Show on April 3rd. We left here Friday morning and got to Enid and spent the afternoon detailing the vette and getting everything set up for the show on Saturday. The girls' friend Jett now lives in Enid and she had asked for the girls to come and spend the night with her. Luckily her mom, Jacki, was nice enough to come to the expo center Friday night and pick the girls up for us. Kind of the pits dragging a car trailer all over the place! lol She picked the girls up around 5:30 or so and then took them to a friends mansion in Enid. The entire basement was an indoor swimming pool and a movie theatre. The ordered pizza, went swimming, watched some movies and got to tour the mansion. The girls were in heaven, they said they wished they could have stayed there forever! lollll Saturday Jacki took all the girls to the park, then to the mall, they all got pedicures (well, Dakota passed - heaven forbid she do anything girly!! lol). But Jordan, Jacki, Jett, and Jayci all got pedicures and had a blast, Jordan is addicted to them now! lol Dakota had fun shopping at the mall and the girls even ran into cousin Lynn there, so they were tickled to get to see her! Ed and I spent the entire day at the car show with some fellow "vette" friends! When it was over, we went out to eat with them and then met Jay (Jett's dad) in a parking lot with the girls so we didn't have to pull the trailer all over trying to find their house! lol The rest of the evening we spent at the hotel. Got up early Sunday morning and headed home. Dakota had softball pitching practice that afternoon and Jordan got in some trap shooting practice too!! All in all we had a great Easter weekend (even though a lot of it was spent driving! lol).
