VERY proud mom!!!

Well, gotta brag on my girls a little more! lol I'm so proud of both of them!! Jordan made the cheerleading squad!!! She will be a cheerleader for the jr. high football team next year! She is pretty excited!! And Dakota was named Student of the month for February!!! How cool is that?? Both girls getting named student of the month their first year in Hooker!! :o)

The girls and I had a lot of fun in KS with my Mom. Grandma Margie went with us and we sure enjoyed the trip to and from getting to visit with her and just spend some time with her!! I'll treasure this trip forever!! Went shopping while we were there and had a lot of fun. Got a lot of projects to get busy on if this silly weather every straightens up!! I'm so anxious to get started on my flower beds now!!

I went off and forgot my camera, but the weather was pretty cold and drizzly while we were there, so we didn't really do too much other than shop and hang out in the house. Went ahead and brought the girls home with me Thursday instead of letting them stay until Sunday because we're supposed to get some bad weather tonight and tomorrow and I didn't want to chance it and have to try and meet half way on bad roads Sunday! lol

They go back to school on Monday and have a track meet on Thursday. I'll try and get some pics!!

March Update! (3/10/10)

So glad that it's almost Springtime! I'm really tired of ice and snow. We've had more this year than we've had in several years. Good for the moisture that we needed, but I'm ready for some warmer weather!!

Ed finally got him an older pickup to pump out of, so I officially have my truck back! lol I love it. Took me 3 hours to clean it up after he had been using it to pump out of for about 9 months though! lol But it looks like a new one again!!

Girls are keeping me super busy as always!! Jordan was named "Student of the Month" for January. They pick them the following month, so she found out the middle of February! She was pretty excited and I am so proud of her. Quite an accomplishment to be chosen out of all the 7th, 8th and 9th graders for the Jr. High. Esp. being new to Hooker Schools this year!! Both of the girls once again made the Superintendent's Honor Roll this nine weeks!! They will get their report cards this coming Friday! Pretty proud of them!! (as if you couldn't tell! lol) Track season is officially underway!! They have their first meet this coming Friday (12th) in Boise City!! Jordan is also trying out for cheerleader this year. She's been attending cheer clinics all week and practicing at home. Tryouts are tomorrow (11th) after school. I sure hope she makes it. I really think she has a pretty good shot at it as long as they have impartial judges! lol (cause we all know how you get those that will vote for a certain person because of who his/her parents are, ect...) But overall, I think she has a pretty good chance! Keeping my fingers crossed for her!! Dakota is still doing great with her pitching. Been a long winter though and she's sure ready to get back to going once a week instead of maybe once a month depending on the weather! lol Softball season is right around the corner, so she's getting really excited about that.

Spring Break is next week, the girls and I are going to Laverne on Monday morning and picking up Grandma Margie, then we're all going up to KS to see Mom for a few days! Gonna be so much fun having a girls only vacation!! :o) We're gonna go shopping all day Tuesday and Wednesday with Mom and then Grandma Margie and I will come back home on Thursday. The girls are gonna spend the rest of the week with Grandma Trish and Pa Larry. Then I'll meet Mom half way on Sunday to pick them up again! We are all getting really excited. Girls have been saving their money and working around here to earn some more so they will have lots to shop with! lol

Hard to believe that we are getting ready to start the last 9 weeks of the girls' 7th grade year. This year went by faster than I ever thought possible. Seems like just yesterday I was sending them off to a new school and hoping that they liked it. And of course, they loved it! They have both made a lot of friends, are very active in everything and of course have made excellent grades all year. I'm so very proud of both of my girls. They are very sweet, caring, mature young ladies and they have so much going for them. I have a feeling they are both going to do great things with their lives!!

That about catches everyone up again. I'll be sure to take some pics of our "girls' vacation" next week and update this when we get home. Hope everyone is having a great March!!!

Snowman!!

Girls had fun building this snowman after the last snow. They named him Colby - after a good friend of ours because he was wearing sunglasses and a d0-rag just like Colby does. lol

Valentine's Day

We all had a nice Valentine's Day. Ed had to work that morning, but that evening he took me and the girls out to the movie. The girls went to see "Valentine's Day" but Ed and I went to see "From Paris with Love". We really enjoyed our movie and the girls really enjoyed theirs. We were gonna go out and eat after the movie, but it was late and we were all full from popcorn! lol

Jordan's First "Date"

Jordan went on her first "date" this past Saturday night (13th). She went with her boyfriend Bret. They have been sweethearts since pre-k. When he moved away it was a little hard on both of them for a while, but they found their way back to each other! lol Bret brought Jordan some flowers, a card, and a balloon for Valentine's day and then took her out to the movie. They went to see "From Paris with Love". Of course only both being 13- they went to the movie with Bret's parents. Jordan had a great time and really enjoyed getting to spend some time with Bret.

Pics!!

Girls OU Birthday Cake!!
Jordan and Haley

Dakota and Brandon - their 1st "date". 1/22/10 I took Dakota to the theatre to meet Brandon and his parents. They went to see The Blindside and when the movie was over, I picked her up. She had so much fun. Brandon is such a sweet guy and they really seem crazy about each other. Bad part is that he lives in California now, so she misses him like crazy. But of course they text, email, talk on the phone, ect... and he does come back to OK once in a while to visit, he's coming for 2 weeks in August and they are both already counting down the days! lol

Girls on the beach at South Padre Islands

Girls and Dad and Tweeter - Christmas '09 at South Padre Islands

My babies are 13!!!

Wow, it does not seem like they should already be 13 years old!! They have grown up so fast!! They are very beautiful, caring, and mature young ladies and I am so very proud of them!!! We didn't do anything real big for their birthday this year because they have been so busy that we simply didn't have time. We are planning on taking them somewhere special before too long, maybe over Spring Break. They spent their birthday weekend with Jordan going to an area quiz bowl in Woodward on Saturday and Sunday (actual birthday) Jordan had gymnastics and Dakota had softball pitching practice.

They are both doing excellent in school. Jordan made the superintendents honor roll for the semester! Dakota made superintendents honor roll for the 1st nine weeks and principals for the semester. She missed out on superintendents by 1 point in one class! She was a little bummed about that, but I am so very proud of both of them for the grades that they make. They are so busy with sports, and other extra activities that making straight A's and one B to me is excellent!!

Their basketball team is undefeated!! As of today they are 14 and 0!! They are both doing amazing. As I said before, they both made the A team and get to play quite a bit on it. And now the coach has decided since the B team had not been doing very well that he would put 5 of the A team girls on the B team to help out a little. So they get to play a couple of quarters on the B team, to help them out, and then get to play on the A team too. So this has meant more playing time for the girls, which is nice, and more games for us! lol But that's okay, they are loving it and doing so great!!

Jordan is doing awesome in gymnastics, finally did a back handspring last week, she was pretty pumped about that!! Dakota is doing amazing at pitching too. She has got some power behind that ball. She probably throws 8 out of 10 strikes now!! And she's still got about 3-4 more months of practices before softball season even starts. Only thing that concerns me is that she's got so much power, that the girl playing catcher is not gonna want to catch the balls Dakota pitches! She even makes her coach's hand hurt and she really stung Ed's hand the other day! lol

They are both still active in Awana and FCA. This keeps them and me busy on Wednesdays. There is rarely a day (even weekends) that we don't have something going on. But I wouldn't trade it for anything!!

Ed is still pumping for Oxy, he loves his job. He's home early most days and he works every other weekend, but those weekends he's usually home before noon.

Bryce is still living in Shattuck and he's working at a salvage yard in Woodward.

Girls got to go to South Padre Islands over Christmas with my Dad. They had a blast. It was cold there though, colder than it's been in over 10 years they said, so they didn't get to swim in the ocean like they had hoped, but they still had a lot of fun. Went on a dolphin watch, to a big zoo, a place where they take care of sea turtles, ect... It was a fun trip for them and they really enjoyed spending some time with their Grandpa!! The Bahamas Cruise didn't work out, some sort of booking mix up, so that is why they ended up going to South Padre Islands.

Well, I think this about catches everyone up on what's been going on around here. Hard to believe it's 2010 already. Hopefully I'll do a little better about updating at least once a month! lol But no promises! :o)
